Mahsa & Marjan Vahdat

Award-winning Iranian vocalists Mahsa and Marjan Vahdat join Willamette pianist James Miley and guest artists for an evening of transcendent music rooted in Persian classical and regional traditions. Renowned internationally for their expressive voices and deep engagement with Iranian poetry, the Vahdat sisters blend centuries-old musical forms with contemporary influences, creating performances that cross cultural and linguistic boundaries. Their work has been celebrated worldwide for its artistry, humanism, and powerful commitment to artistic freedom.

An Orchestral Performance of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf

Peter and the Wolf

Directed by Qinqing Qian, the Willamette University Pacific Rim Symphony Orchestra presents an afternoon of student excellence and timeless storytelling. The program opens with showstopping instrumental and vocal classics performed by the student winners of Willamette’s annual concerto competition. The concert culminates in Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, a beloved musical setting of the classic Russian folktale, brought to life through music and narration by special guest, University President Steve Thorsett.

Sonic Arts

Willamette University's Sonic Arts & Experimental Ensembles present "Mutable Landscapes," a concert of live electronic music and structured improvisation.
